The demand of efficient modulation is very ubiquitous for digital mobile communications. One of modulation systems frequently implemented in digital mobile communications is Orthogonal Wavelet Division Multiplexing (OWDM). In this paper, the performance of fractal wavelet packet implemented on OWDM system is analyzed. The implementation of fractal wavelet packet on OWDM system is combined with M -ary phase shift keying (PSK) system called as M -ary PSK OWDM. The proposed scheme of modulation is aimed to achieve high performance of modulation particularly in bandwidth resource. This scheme is compared with M-ary PSK Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) which recently has been implemented for 4G communication system. The analysis result shows that the proposed scheme in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and frequency selective fading with Rayleigh distribution could produce bit efficiency yielding the improvement of bit error rate (BER). The similar performance is also achieved for M -ary PSK OWDM system with higher number of subcarriers.
