This article deals with a regulation method of switching frequency in voltage source converters based on finite set-predictive control. The proposed method directly influences on the main performances such as power losses reduction and improvement of power quality (i.e. THD). In the regulation method a modifying term, representing elapsed time, is added to a cost function that is multiplied by a weighting factor. By proper determination of this weighting factor, the switching frequency could be changed to determined pattern. The proposed method is simple and does not affect controller response time, and operate properly during all operating points. The results show that it can improve THD index under a certain point, or maintain the switching frequency in a certain bound.
