The arresters are generally connected in parallel by the same type of multi-column arrester. Therefore, when the arrester absorbs energy, the distribution of energy between the arresters of each column is one of the key problems for the stable operation of the multi-column parallel arrester. According to the provisions of GB/T 22389-2010, this paper analyzes the factors affecting the uneven current distribution. The difference of U1mA should be as small as possible. The ATP and MATLAB software are used to simulate the current sharing characteristics of the 38-column parallel arrester. The volt-ampere characteristic curve band of the arrester, the non-uniformity coefficient of the arrester current of each column in this area is less than 1.1; meanwhile, the volt-ampere characteristic of the arrester in this area is calculated, and the voltage difference percentage at 20 mA is 0.456%.
