Using a small-scale generator to evaluate Automatic Voltage Regulator of a 25MVA power plant

摘要

This paper describes how to test a power plant excitation system by using a small-scale generator. The tests are part of applied research titled “Localization of Static Excitation System of Hydro Generators in Iran”. Considering the high risk of various tests on the underdevelopment excitation system for a power generator, a small-scale generator has been used in these tests as a physical model of the actual system. The standard tests are easily applied to this generator with low risk. Based on the results, the defects are corrected and the controller software is modified.
