Aiming at the double motors tension control problem in industrial production, the principle of tension control system is analyzed. The hardware and software of tension control system using S7-300 PLC are designed. Aiming at problem that field tuning parameters of controller are dangerous and inconvenient, a method of off-line PID parameters tuning is proposed. The controlled object of tension control system is modeled. And this model is input into function block FB100. PID controller function block FB41 and function block FB100 are connected to each other. The simulation model of tension control system is constructed. By STEP7 software, the visual response curve of the tension control system is obtained. By parameters tuning of controller and observing the visual response curve, the control performance of the tension control system can be adjusted. Finally, PID parameters that meet the control requirements of tension control system are confirmed. The simulation debugging of tension control system is completed. The research results of this paper have high practical value for the design and application of tension control system.
