摘要

The purpose of the paper is to investigate a particular technique to control the spatial distribution of a specimen over one-dimensional habitual space. Population density is described by a nonlinear reaction diffusion partial differential equation (PDE) in accordance with the population dynamics theory. After approximation of the nonlinear PDE with a finite state-space model from 120th order with three inputs and three outputs a classical proportional integral (PI) controller is tuned for each input/output pair. The manipulated variable in the model is the flow rate of species in a fixed access point of the habitat. Due to the diffusion by controlling the density at several key nodes of the habitat the population density can be regulated over the whole habitual domain.
