Recently, the application of model predictive control in the field of power electronics have become an important research direction due to the advanced performance. This paper presents an improved Finite Control Set-Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC), which is applied to dual-inverter. The control strategy realizes predictive control by off-line selecting control sets and on-line optimization. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of voltage vectors in the dual-inverter, the inter mediate hexagonal vectors which can suppress the zero-sequence voltage is selected as the finite control sets. The optimal voltage vector is selected to act on the next switching cycle according to the principle of minimum value function. The control strategy can reduce the harmonic content, and the dynamic response speed is better than the traditional vector control. The feasibility and stability of the control strategy are analyzed through simulation.
