Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) is primary waveform candidate for 5G. To avoid interference the CP length in OFDM must be sufficiently long, leading to poor spectral efficiency. To overcome these drawbacks Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) based on OQAM (GFDM/OQAM) has been introduced. Compared to OFDM, GFDM waveform provides better pulse shaping and has better use for the CP. Furthermore, GFDM system is interfaced with diversity techniques such as Space time Block coding (STBC), Space Frequency Block coding (SFBC) and Space Time Frequency Block coding (STFBC) in 2×1 MISO environment and performance is being evaluated using Zero Forcing (ZF) and MMSE-Decision Feedback Equalizer (MMSE-DFE). The result shows that the GFDM system with MISO depicts a reasonable performance improvement with MMSE-DFE.
