In recent years, distributed energy resources (DERs), especially photovoltaic generation systems have been increased in Japan. However, it may be difficult to keep a balance between supply and demand in a power system. In the circumstances, Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is expected to be a method for adjustment among them. On the other hand, even if the VPP is constructed in a distribution system, distribution line voltages have to be properly regulated within an appropriate range. In this paper, authors investigate the effect of the reactive power control by a utility interactive inverters in case of some possible VPP operations. As a result, distribution line voltages can be regulated by the reactive power control.
