In recent years, many studies are underway to continuously monitor health conditions by attaching a wearable device directly to the skin. A pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) sheet is sometimes used as a method of attaching a wearable device. AGC developed a novel high moisture-permeable polyurethane PSA for this application comprising high molecular weight polyether polyol. By having appropriate peel strength and high moisture permeability, even when the wearable device is put on the skin for a long time, the skin will not be macerated, and it is possible to reduce the amount of stratum corneum peeled off from the skin. AGC's polyurethane PSA, which has a high moisture permeability higher than that of silicone PSA and also high adhesion to various plastics, is a suitable adhesive for attaching a wearable device to a body.
