A Dual-band square slot antenna is presented in this paper. The proposed antenna consists of a modified L-shaped patch, truncated on horizontal strip, to get the circularly polarized (CP) band at higher frequency region for second impedance band. On the opposite side of the substrate, two semi-hexagonal notches are etched from the lower boundary of the ground plane with the aim of increase linear polarized (LP) for first impedance band at lower frequency region and an array of rectangular strips, at an angle 45 with respect to center, are added on the ground plane to increase CP radiation in lower frequency region for second impedance band. The design and enactment of a dual-band circular polarized antenna for multisystem application are defined in this paper. After optimization of the geometrical parameters for the antenna, the resonances are combined, and thus dual impedance bandwidths are achieved. The simulated dual impedance bandwidths, where S11 < -10dB, range from 4.45 – 5.85 GHz for lower band, and 6.10 – 10.82 GHz for higher band. The simulated dual axial ratio (AR) bands are 550 MHz and 1090 MHz at center frequency (fc) of CP band 6.3 GHz, and 9.7 GHz respectively. The simulated radiation features of the presented antenna are presented and described.
