Underwater pictures are corrupted because of assimilation and dispersing of light. Due to these effects may change the visibility of the underwater objects. Several methods are developed to restore and enhance the underwater degraded images. This paper briefly presents a method that is based on SWT image fusion, colour correction and White balance technique removes the colour cast through colour correction estimator and preserves edges through the sharpening filter, a fusion process is introduced to embrace the images.
