In this paper, a compact power distribution network (PDN) structure with ultra-wideband simultaneous switching noise (SSN) mitigation for antenna in package is presented. Only one spiral slot is etched on the square patch of the EBG pattern, which is constituted the presented PDN structure. The equivalent circuit model is developed to analyze the mechanism of the electromagnetic compatibility behavior that a high-impedance is provided for reducing the SSN coupling. An ultra-wideband SSN mitigation performance is obtained from 0.35 GHz to 20 GHz under the suppression level of −40 dB. Good agreements are observed between the simulated and measured results.
