Effect of Geographical Distribution of Failed Links on Survivability Improvement in Translucent Elastic Optical Network Employing Shared Protection with Fallback

We show that the geographical distribution of simultaneously failed links influences survivability improvement only slightly when employing shared protection with fallback (SP-FB) in translucent elastic optical networks. Results show that SP-FB is useful during disasters.
