This paper presents a study of FACTS devices applications, in particularly determination of types and sizes of FACTS devices, which are required to enhance Voltage stability margin. The study is carried out for the 132 kV network in Dar es Salaam and Coast Grid Zone with a low load scenario. The static analysis using modal analysis approach, based on steady state Voltage stability study is examined. The obtained results show that with the application of FACTS devices, Voltage stability margin of this Grid section is considerably enhanced thus, the grid is protected from Voltage collapse.
