In this work, a simplified complex domain radio frequency (RF) frontend based on vector multipliers and a power detector is adopted to implement precision amplitude and phase control in a multi-channel phased array system. Assisted by this system, Monte Carlo optimizations are used to suppress interferences by the simultaneous implementation of beamforming and nulling. Simulation and experimental results obtained based on a 4element planar array verify the effectiveness of the proposed system and algorithm, and show potential applications in anti-interference wireless point-to-point communications such as satellite communications.
