This paper presents the first development of a transceiver adopting the Rotating Polarization Wave (RPW) scheme by proposing the demodulation method to efficiently receive RPW signals. The RPW scheme enhances the wireless coverage in the Non-Line-Of-Sight environment. The proposed receiver appropriately acquires arrived signals with high power polarization angles, which fluctuate with time. Performance evaluations of the developed transceiver in a factory and a power plant demonstrate that the packet error rate of the proposed RPW transceiver are improved 104 times at the maximum compared with the conventional linear-polarization-based transceiver.
