Analysis Of Radar Early Warning Systems For Oil Spills In The Offshore Sector

The article in a short form presents the latest trends in detecting and reducing oil spills in the offshore sector using radar systems. The Offshore sector is characterized by an increased probability of oil spills due to the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons. The effects of such spills can be catastrophic as it was in the past, for example: the failure of Deep Water Horizon or Piper Alpha oil platforms. Using REWS - radar early warning systems can prevent spreading such an oil spill and prevent ecological catastrophe. In the article authors tried to pay attention and focus on the problem as well as to analyze some of systems which are already in operational use.
