Imaging wide-swath target areas requires using Low Pulse Repetition Frequency (LPRF) which limits the maximum non-ambiguous cross-range. Consequently, this will limit the maximum achievable cross-range resolution. Di Martino and Iodice proposed CopSAR and OrthoCopSAR to reduce the amount of data stored and to achieve wide-swath SAR imaging without degradation in the cross-range resolution for the case of bright scatterers in a dark background which finds applications in monitoring ships in a large area of a calm sea (Maritime Search Mode). The main limitation of such algorithms is the appearance of ghost images due to unresolved aliases. We propose MC-CopSAR which utilizes an additional receive channel to remove such ghost images (ambiguities). Simulation results show that our proposed technique provides a considerable improvement in removing residual ambiguities.
