“The Hybrid Ring Loop Antenna”

A full wave circular loop antenna is configured as a hybrid ring loop antenna to provide linear polarization, circular polarization, dual linear polarization and dual circular polarization. The radiating structure is a circle of thin wire near one wavelength in circumference with gap ports. It provides polarization diversity and multiplexing of multiple communications channels. The hybrid ring loop antenna has increased directivity and gain relative the half wave dipole turnstile antenna and it does so at reduced antenna size.
