Genetic characteristics of ampicillin-resistant E. coli in wastewater treatment plants influent, effluent, and Lake Biwa

摘要

Results in this study suggest that major source of nonselective E. coli in the Lake Biwa were not WWTP effluents but feces from wild birds and/or livestock. In this study, ampicillin resistance E. coli was selected as a model to investigate the source of ARB in the Lake Biwa. Results indicated that major source of ampicillin resistant E. coli in the Lake Biwa were not only WWTP effluents but also feces from wild birds and/or livestock.
