摘要

The inhibition effect of Dandelion extract on the corrosion of carbon steel in 0.5 M H_2SO_4 solution was investigated by chemical (mass loss), electrochemical (EIS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods. The presence of Dandelion extract in acid solution affects on corrosion behavior of carbon steel due to the adsorption of Dandelion extract constitutes on the metal surface. The maximum inhibition efficiency (81.5%) was obtained at extract concentration of 400 mg/l. The energy barrier for the corrosion process becomes greater in the presence of Dandelion extract. SEM examinations clarified a decrease in corrosion attacks in presence of Dandelion extract.
