Past seismic events have tragically demonstrated the high vulnerability of Civil and Industrial structures in earthquake prone areas. This is the main reason of the continuous research activity devoted to new and effective design/assessment methods. However, while the experience in civil construction has seen decades of growing, the activity related to industrial installations started its development only few years ago.
