AlSi10Mg has emerged as a versatile material for metal AM applications across a variety of industries. At Incodema3D, cumulative research efforts have resulted in an understanding of the effects of process variables on finished material properties of AlSi10Mg fabricated using the LPBF method. It is important to be cognizant of the effects of the machine, process variables, and testing methodologies on the measured finished material properties. The paper summarizes the effects of each of these factors as seen by Incodema3D and goes into how different mechanical properties can be obtained from the same material, just by changing the process variables.
