This paper provides in detail study and analysis of microstrip line and ring resonator by varying different values of spacing between resonator structures and feed line, another parameter called loss tangent of dielectric material varied and the improvement in insertion loss and return loss can be done and simulated using AWR microwave office. In this paper microstrip line and ring resonator designed at 5 GHz frequency and the Scattering parameters are compared then appropriate resonator structure can be used for specific applications. Microstrip resonators are used in many applications such as microstrip antenna arrays, filters, power dividers and couplers.
