Due to the transition of the energy systems towards Renewable Energy Sources, the demand for flexibility increases constantly. Simultaneously, new electrical consumers, such as Power-to-Heat and Power-to-Gas technologies are integrated on distribution level in order reduce the greenhouse gas emissions in the heating and mobility sector. These new consumers need to be considered in the planning of future distribution grids and the further development of the regulatory framework. This paper presents a modelling approach, which contributes to the evaluation of the interactions between flexibility options and the distribution grid. A general cross-sectoral plant model, based on the extension of the Power Nodes modelling framework, is presented as well as an Optimal-Power-Flow approach in order to determine the permissible operation range from the distribution grid perspective. The application of the introduced models is shown for a real medium voltage grid and a wastewater treatment plant, containing various flexibility options.
