摘要

A new tunnel luminance detection system based on the light intensity response model and combined with tunnel video monitoring equipments is proposed. This detection system has the advantages of visualizable detected area, continuous surface detection, large detection area, low costs on hardwares and labors. Firstly, the stability and uniformity of the cameras are calibrated. Secondly, the system collects the video images of the tunnel, correct images’ geometric distortion and extract image elements, followed by the background initialization for the detection area. Finally, through a new algorithm developed, the surface luminance and luminance of the total uniformity are detected. The experimental results show that the proposed detection system achieves a high accuracy and can simultaneously reduce the energy consumption of the tunnel lighting system effectively while ensuring the safe driving of the vehicles.
