摘要

In this paper, a typical He-Xe cooled space nuclear system has been analyzed and a simple but effective method of system analysis has been explained and verified, which can be used to conduct preliminary design of the space nuclear system. The analysis method is also used to characterize system behavior concerning parameters like system temperature, pressure, compressor ratio, system efficiency and recuperator efficiency. Next, the Prometheus Project reactor design is modeled and a hollow fuel pin version reactor is also modeled. Then the effective multiplication factor and the neutron flux distribution of the reactors are calculated in different situations in order to acquire its physical performance as well as guide future design.
