Signal Compression Method based on Discrete Linear Chirp Transform

The aim of signal compression is to increase the storing capability by dropping the data amount that needs to be transmitted. The Discrete Linear Chirp Transforms (DLCT) is a frequency Chirp-Rate Transform (CRT) that decays the transmitting signal in relations of linear chirps. Chirp signals, possibly will not be meagre either in time or frequency, but somewhat exist in a midway domain. So, the DLCT is used to transform such signals into sparse with the help of modulation and duality property. In this paper, we will apply the sparsity feature of DLCT for signal compression and found that compressive sensing obtained using DLCT gives better results. It is observed that the central narrow peak in the ambiguity analysis gives good resolution properties. As per application point of view, these DLCT based signals can be used for detection purpose in the communication system.
