This paper proposed an improved biogeography-based optimization algorithm with intelligent migration and mutation (IMMBBO) to overcome the disadvantage of original algorithm in convergence. Logistic function is used to reflect the self-limiting growing process of biological population and the Hawk-Dove game is introduced to increase the diversity of global search. Comparative benchmark experiments are conducted to verify the feasibility of the improved algorithm. Computational results demonstrate that IMMBBO is an effective algorithm to solve the complex optimization problems.
