摘要

In this paper, we design and fabricate a unit cell block for 3-D isotropic left-handed metamaterials impedance-matched to free space which is composed of a dielectric cube and metallic mesh. The numerical simulation results show almost 3-D isotropic propagation characteristics in a specific frequency region with low reflection loss at the boundaries. Furthermore, near field profiles along the 1-D aligned array were simulated and measured verifying the backward wave mode propagation without serious field scatterings.
