There are a lot of HVDC projects already applied in current power system. In order to improve the stability of hybrid system, this paper analyses and studies new DC transmission topology and control strategy. With LCC on rectifier side and VSC on inverter side, hybrid HVDC system makes the DC transmission control more flexible and effectively improve the stability of connected AC system as well. There are two models of LCC-VSC hybrid HVDC system and LCC HVDC system built with PSCAD/EMTDC to analyze the advantages and disadvantages by comparing the dynamic response of different AC/DC system faults.
