The paper contains an analysis of the impact of the characteristics of a switched reluctance generator (SRG) installed in a low-power wind turbine on its annual energy production. The study was conducted on the basis of the characteristics of previously designed switched reluctance generators which differ only in terms of winding parameters. As a consequence of the design, the maximum power output can be generated at various wind speeds. By accounting for these differences, it was possible to calculate the annual energy production of various turbine types. The assessment of the efficiency of the investigated wind turbines incorporates the results of actual annual measurements of wind speeds. Consequently, it was possible to identify the generator design providing the greatest output of electricity. The research was conducted via the application of simulation methods.
