摘要

To predict the storm surge level of Ningbo coast, a computing methodof the radius of maximum wind speed of typhoons is presented in thispaper. It is found that the Takahashi pressure distribution method is themost suitable for Ningbo region with a new R0 (radius of maximumwind speed) estimation method proposed. A coupled model integratingtide and storm surge is established to simulate the storm surge inNingbo. The comparison of computed water level against the observedvalues during typhoon periods show that model with the optimalmethod works well.
