Water environmental capacity is a popular approach for governments toprevent water pollution. Diffusion process is important in contaminanttransport. The contaminant concentration in non-flow/unidirectionalflowwater was solved by theoretical solution, while that in an actualsea was solved by numerical solution. The results were compared withdifferent diffusion coefficients, showing that the difference in thecalculated environmental capacity approximately equals the ratio of thedifferent diffusion coefficients, which can be increased to multipletimes. However, the difference of multiple times is too significant forthe environmental capacity. Therefore, it is necessary to add parametersensitivity analysis and calibration before the calculation of waterenvironmental capacity.
