A simulation code is developed to conduct the coupled-dynamic analysis of ship-shaped floating structure and its mooring lines in time domain. The dynamic effects of mooring line and the coupled-motion model which are often neglected in the general analysis methods are introduced. Three-dimensional lumped mass method is used to calculate the dynamic effects of mooring lines. Calculated mooring lines motions are combined with floating body motion in the horizontal plane calculated by using the MMG model to introduce the coupled-motion effects between the body and the mooring lines simultaneously. Simulated results indicate that moored-structure motion in the horizontal plane can be predicted by using the developed simulation code.
