In recent years, with the development of science and technological advancement, multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) in industrial large-scale production system have become large increasingly and system complexity has also multiplied. However, if an event of failure of such a large-scale system occurred. It will result in significant property damage and casualties. In order to improve the reliability and maintainability of these MIMO complex dynamic systems, it becomes more and more important to monitor the performance or detect faults in industrial processes to ensure the safety operation. In this research, a mathematical regression method of partial least squares method is used for performance monitoring based on input/output data. As the performances of system changed, the proposed method can detect the system change by monitoring only one parameter obtained by PLS. Finally, a simulation result will evaluate the effectiveness of this theorv.
