Several heat-transfer correlations have been developed to predict heat transfer at Supercritical Pressures (SCPs), which are based on the Dittus-Boelter-type correlation for forced convection as their basis. Three correlations have been found to accurately model experimental data of heat transfer along vertical bare tubes: Jackson (2002), Mokry et al. (2009), and Gupta et al. (2011). These correlations have been compared against experimental data and the most accurate ones were used to generate heat-transfer-coefficient profiles at various operating conditions. HTC and temperature profiles are generated in this paper. These profiles can be used to analyze and understand HTC correlations. HTC correlations are important in fuel bundle designing and simulation. Future work should investigate these correlations by changing pressure or mass flux.
