Full-duplex (FD) systems, suggested to play a key role in future networks, boost the spectral efficiency, although they suffer from self-interference (SI). In parallel, massive multiple-output (MIMO) systems, employing a large number of antennas, emerge as a promising technology offering huge degrees-of-freedom. Hence, after careful consideration, this paper considers a multi-pair decode-and-forward FD relay channel, where the relay station is deployed with a large number of antennas. Also, since the rate-splitting (RS) transmission is applicable in multi-user scenarios, we include it in our analysis in terms of deterministic equivalents. Remarkably, numerical results show the robustness of RS both half-duplex (HD) and FD systems. Moreover, RS increases the range of SI over which FD outperforms HD. Outstandingly, RS proves to be more robust as the number of relay antennas increases.
