Economic dispatch, in essence, is the behavior assigning demanded power to different distributed generators (DGs) based on their consumption characteristics. As the frequently-used non-independent power source in microgrids, energy storage has no conventional consumption characteristic like DGs which are utilized with great subjectivity. This paper proposes an equivalent consumption characteristic for energy storage and establishes a real-time economic dispatch model in hybrid AC/DC microgrid. Three relevant cases are designed to inspect this model at the end. Results of simulation indicate the validity of equivalent consumption characteristic of energy storage in the real-time economic dispatch model.
