摘要

Adaptive Layer Switching (ALS) has been presented in earlier work as a method of switching the access mechanism in the MAC layer during the network operation. It has shown good performance especially under varying traffic conditions of the smart grid. In this paper we extend the evaluation of ALS with focus on a small network. The selected topology is evaluated with uplink and downlink, UDP and TCP traffic. The results are compared and discussed. The performance of the switching process as well as performance of the network during switching is given.
