With the wide use of the high-strength steel and the maximization ofcontainer ships, it is evident that stiffness of container vessels decreasessharply, which will cause springing phenomenon, the resultinginfluence on fatigue strength is inevitable. Firstly hull girder structuralmode analysis is derived from the transfer matrix method. Based onthis, the three dimensional linear hydroelastic theory is used inspringing analysis of an 18000 TEU container vessel. A methodconsidering springing effects of ship structural fatigue strengthassessment is adopted according to the rain-flow counting method andlinear fatigue cumulative damage theory. The fatigue damagesensitivity analysis is achieved about loading, heading, wave height, wave period, damping coefficient and velocity.
