Relative permeability curves were estimated withdownhole pressure-transient analysis of mini-drillstemtests (mini-DSTs) and well-log-derivedsaturations. The relative permeability values in thissandstone reservoir were validated through historymatching of production data in the oil-producinginterval.The new approach was based on performing mini-DSTs in the free-water, oil, and oil/water transitionzones. Analyses of the mini-DST buildup testsprovided absolute formation permeability, endpoint of relative permeability to both oil and water,and curvature of the relative permeability data.Additionally, resistivity, dielectric, and nuclearmagnetic resonance (NMR) logs were used todetermine irreducible water, residual oil, andtransition zone saturations. Combining all of thesedownhole measurements provided the relativepermeability curves.
