In this study, we developed a new centrifugal compressor test facility that can produce wet gas conditions (up to 15% liquid mass fraction (LMF)) and analyzed the effect of the wet gas flow on the fluid performance of a centrifugal compressor. As a result, we found that adiabatic efficiency decreased as LMF increased due to an increase in the shaft power. Moreover, we assumed that the liquid film on the inner wall of the impeller was discharged from the trailing edge at a peripheral-speed by the centrifugal force. Then we found that the shaft power increase ratio at a maximum LMF of 15% could be predicted within 3.7% error on the basis of the assumption.
