Body surface potential mapping (BSPM) can give an insight of heart status in cardiovascular disease diagnosis. However, most special BSPM recording devices are cost and relatively rare. An alternative method is proposed for BSPM recording using two common 64 leads electroencephalogram (EEG) amplifiers. The recording technics includes 117 torso and three limb electrodes of silver-silver chloride, and ECG signals are sampled simultaneously and recorded in digital format with Wilson's central terminal as reference. The BSPM data of one healthy volunteer (male, 24-year-old) was recorded by the proposed method. Considering the inherent mismatched impedance between the subject and the device, a zero-phase bandpass filter was applied for recorded data correction, and then reconstructed the maps. The potential distribution pattern of reconstructed BSPMs are well corresponded with the cardiac activity level, especially during the QRST complex. The results show that the proposed method is feasible and it is an optional choice for BSPM recording.
