In this paper, design of a slot coupled microstrip patch antenna with integrated pre-select filter for Rover receive application at 2.4 GHz, in future lunar missions, is presented. The filter is based on compact dual-mode resonators that exhibits sharp-rejection characteristics (>45 dB) at the transmit frequency, 2.6 GHz. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that the filter is uniplanar and can be integrated directly to the feed of the antenna. Design aspects and the simulation results of the proposed integrated antenna are presented and compared with the reference antenna without filter. The proposed antenna exhibits good 10 dB return loss bandwidth and gain characteristics at 2.4 GHz, while providing good rejection of about 35 dB at 2.6 GHz, when compared to that of reference antenna.
