An app based on static analysis for android ransomware

Ransomware has become the most threatening malware which takes out money from their victims by threatening them that they have been caught accessing illegal websites or in other illegitimate activities. Ransomware has not spared even a single operating system. Windows, IOS, Android and even Linux have been attacked by ransomware and none of them was able to protect its users from its threat. Since then many detection techniques and analysis tools have been developed to get rid of ransomware virus. Kaspersky has developed Anti-Ransom software that provides security to employees and windows-based end points are protected. A company found that this app protected 443,920 users and customers worldwide from encrypting ransomware, in 2015 an windows app has been developed by security professionals of Cybereason named RansomFree which protects against emerging threats, not only just old ransomware but protects against new emerging malwares. According to Cybereason, RansomFree will detect approximately 99% of ransomware. With so many tools being developed on various operating systems there was no successful implementation to remove Ransomware from android. So, in this paper, we have developed an application that detects android ransomware in smart-phones. It includes static analysis, text analysis, code analysis, and firebase database.
