The enhanced backscatter coefficient is an important parameter to characterize the performance of a reverberation chamber (RC). Theoretically, for a well stirred RC, the enhanced backscatter coefficient should be equal to 2. Recently, it has been found this conclusion does not always hold when the measurement goes to higher frequency range, such as X band and beyond, depending on the size of the chamber. The reason is still unclear. In this paper, we have compared the enhanced backscatter coefficients measured in the lower frequency range and the higher frequency range and explored the possible causes of the inaccurate measurement of the enhanced backscatter coefficient at higher frequency range.
