Extendable and customizable features for the detection of JEA/J2EE patterns

Java Enterprise Edition is composed of multilingual source code that supports the development of efficient business applications. This architecture is implemented as a layered model that is supported by a series of object oriented patterns called JEA/J2EE Patterns. These Patterns provide recurring solutions for the development of effective enterprise applications. J2EE Patterns can also be used for the analysis of multilingual applications. In-order to extract these Patterns from multilingual source code of Java Enterprise Application (JEAs), precise definitions of JEA Patterns are required. In this paper extendable and customizable features are presented for the detection of JEA Patterns that can be used for the analysis of multilingual applications. A prototype tool is presented that is based on features types and is capable to recognize JEA/J2EE Patterns from the multilingual source code of Java Enterprise Applications. This prototype is validated on the repository of source code of Java applications as well on open source java applications.
