The amount of available data and information is growing at exponential speed. Today, data collection is widely used for evaluating ship’s technical performance, for analysing global cargo flows and everything in between. However, the industry is missing a widely used, centralized platform that would allow this information to be flexibly shared between different stakeholders, such as cargo owners, operators and ship owners. This paper explains the latest developments in shipping analytics, fulfilling the new regulations while increasing transparency of data, which is leading to safer, more efficient shipping and how this is contributing to the future of autonomous vessels.
